How do I check and refill the transmission fluid in my Ford Galaxy?

I'm not sure how often I should be checking the transmission fluid in my Ford Galaxy. Can you give me some tips on how to do it and what to look for? Thanks!

It's recommended to check your transmission fluid every 30,000 miles or every 2 years. To do so, park on a level surface and let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up the fluid. Then, locate the transmission dipstick, pull it out, and wipe it clean with a cloth. Reinsert the dipstick all the way and pull it back out. The fluid level should fall between the 'low' and 'full' marks. If it's low, carefully pour in a bit of the recommended transmission fluid until it reaches the correct level.

If you notice any dark or burnt smelling fluid, this may indicate a problem with your transmission and it's best to have it checked by a mechanic. Also, make sure to use the recommended type of transmission fluid for your specific Ford Galaxy model. Your owner's manual should have this information.

In addition to checking the fluid level, it's also important to check for any leaks or damages to the transmission fluid lines. If you notice any leaks or damages, it's best to have it inspected and repaired as soon as possible.
