How do I properly maintain the engine of my Ford Focus?

I recently bought a second-hand Ford Focus and I want to make sure that I am taking good care of the engine. What are the maintenance tasks that I need to do regularly and how often should I do them?

As a fellow Ford Focus owner, I recommend you to change your oil every 5,000 miles or every six months, whichever comes first. Make sure to use the recommended oil type by Ford to ensure optimal engine performance.

In addition to regular oil changes, it is important to also check and replace other engine fluids such as coolant, transmission fluid, and brake fluid. Refer to your owner's manual for recommended intervals for each.

Don't forget to also replace your engine's air filter every 15,000 miles or once a year. A clogged air filter can affect your car's fuel efficiency and overall performance.
