Is the Ford Mondeo a reliable car choice for long trips?

I am planning a long road trip and I am considering buying a used Ford Mondeo. I have heard mixed opinions about the reliability of this car. Can anyone share their personal experience with owning a Ford Mondeo and using it for long trips?
