What is the difference between Ford Mondeo diesel and petrol engine?

I am planning to buy a new Ford Mondeo and I am confused between diesel and petrol engine options. What are the differences between these two engine types and which one should I go for?

Diesel engines are generally more fuel efficient and have better torque, making them suitable for longer distances or hauling heavy loads. However, they may have higher upfront and maintenance costs compared to petrol engines. On the other hand, petrol engines are smoother, quieter and cheaper to maintain.

If you plan to use your Ford Mondeo mainly for city driving, a petrol engine may be a better choice as it provides quicker acceleration. But for long highway commutes or towing, a diesel engine would be more suitable.
