Why does my Ford Focus engine make a clicking noise?

I have a 2018 Ford Focus and I've recently noticed a clicking noise coming from the engine. It only happens when the car is in idle or at low speeds. What could be causing this and is it something I should be worried about?

Hi Samantha, the clicking noise could be caused by a variety of issues such as worn spark plugs or low engine oil. It's important to get it checked by a mechanic to determine the cause and prevent any potential damage to your car's engine.

Hi Samantha, my 2016 Ford Focus also had a clicking noise and it turned out to be a loose heat shield on the exhaust. I suggest getting it checked by a professional, but don't worry too much as it could be a simple fix.

Hey Samantha, it's possible that the clicking noise is coming from the valve lifters. If that's the case, it's not a major issue but it's best to have it looked at by a mechanic to ensure it's not causing any damage to your engine.
