I have a Ford S-Max and recently noticed that the engine makes a rattling noise when I start it up. It goes away after a few minutes, but it's concerning. What could be causing this and should I be worried?
ReplyHi Samantha, it's normal for engines to make a bit of noise when starting up, especially when the engine is cold. However, if the rattling noise persists or gets louder, it could be a sign of a larger issue. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic to get it checked out, just to be safe.
I had the same issue with my Ford S-Max and it turned out to be a loose heat shield. It's a quick and cheap fix, so I would definitely recommend getting it checked out by a mechanic.
