I recently purchased a used Ford S-Max and I've noticed a ticking sound coming from the engine. It seems to happen when I accelerate and gets louder as I go faster. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?
ReplyDo you hear the ticking sound during cold starts? If so, it could be normal engine noise until the oil warms up and circulates properly. If it continues after the engine is warm, it's worth getting checked out.
It is possible that the ticking sound is caused by a loose or damaged engine component, such as a valve or lifter. It's always best to have a mechanic check it out to be safe.
