Why is my Ford Focus making a ticking noise when I start the engine?

When I start my Ford Focus, I hear a ticking noise coming from the engine. It usually goes away after a few minutes of driving. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Most likely, the ticking noise is caused by worn out tappet or valve lifters. These need to be replaced to eliminate the noise.

It could also be due to low oil levels or dirty oil. Check your oil level and if it's low, top it off with the recommended type of oil. If the oil looks dirty, consider getting an oil change.
