Why is my Ford Focus stalling on acceleration?

I have a 2005 Ford Focus and recently I have been experiencing issues with it stalling on acceleration. It happens sporadically and the check engine light does not come on. This is causing me a lot of frustration and I'm not sure what the problem could be. It only has 70,000 miles on it and I have kept up with the regular maintenance. Any ideas?

Hi Samantha, that can be a very frustrating issue to deal with. One possible cause could be a clogged air filter. When the air filter is dirty, it can restrict air flow to the engine and cause it to stall. I recommend checking your air filter and replacing it if necessary. This is a simple and relatively inexpensive fix that could solve your problem.

Samantha, another possible cause could be a faulty fuel pump. When the fuel pump is failing, it can cause the engine to stall on acceleration. You may also notice that your car struggles to start or has a decreased power and acceleration. I suggest taking your car to a mechanic to have the fuel pump checked and replaced if necessary. It's important to address this issue as soon as possible to avoid any further damage to your car.
