Why is my Ford Puma's engine making a strange sound?

I have noticed that my Ford Puma's engine is making a strange sound whenever I start the car or accelerate. It sounds like a loud knocking noise and I'm worried it might be a serious issue. Has anyone else experienced this? What could be the cause and how can I fix it?

Hi Sarah, it sounds like your car might have a problem with the engine's timing belt. It could have worn out or become misaligned, which can cause knocking noises. I suggest taking your car to a trusted mechanic to have it checked and replaced if needed.

I had a similar issue with my Ford Puma and it turned out to be a problem with the spark plugs. They were old and needed to be replaced. Once I got them replaced, the knocking noise stopped. I recommend getting your spark plugs checked and replaced if necessary.

Check your oil levels, Sarah. Low oil can also cause knocking noises in the engine. You may need to add more oil or get an oil change. If the noise persists, it could be a sign of a bigger issue with the engine.
