Why is the check engine light on in my Ford Kuga?

I've been driving my Ford Kuga for a few months now and suddenly the check engine light popped up. I'm not sure what could be causing this, can anyone give me some insight?

Hi Maria, the check engine light could be indicating a variety of issues. It's best to take your Kuga to a certified Ford technician to diagnose the problem. Some common causes could be a faulty sensor, a loose gas cap, or a more serious engine issue.

Hey Maria, the check engine light could also be indicating an issue with your emission control system. I suggest taking it in for an inspection to avoid any potential problems down the road.
