I recently purchased a used Ford Puma and I'm not sure when the timing belt should be replaced. It has 80,000 miles on the odometer and I don't want to risk any major engine damage. Any recommendations?
ReplyIt's recommended to replace the timing belt every 60,000 miles or 6 years, whichever comes first. At 80,000 miles, it's definitely due for a replacement to avoid potential engine damage. I would highly recommend getting it replaced as soon as possible to ensure the longevity of your engine.
If the timing belt fails, it can cause serious damage to your engine. It's better to err on the side of caution and replace it every 60,000 miles. I've seen too many people neglect this and end up with a hefty repair bill. Don't risk it!
