What is the best oil viscosity for a Ford Focus?

I just bought a Ford Focus and I'm confused about what type of oil viscosity to use for the best performance. Can anyone recommend a specific viscosity that will work best for the Ford Focus engine? Thank you!

According to Ford, the recommended oil viscosity for the Ford Focus is 5W-20. This thin oil allows for faster flow and better lubrication, resulting in improved engine performance. You should stick with this recommended viscosity for the best results.

I've been using 5W-30 oil in my Ford Focus for years and I haven't had any issues. Some mechanics even say that using a slightly thicker oil like 5W-30 can help protect the engine better. It's up to personal preference, but I've had good results with this viscosity.

I would highly recommend sticking with the manufacturer's recommendation of 5W-20 for the Ford Focus. Using a different viscosity can affect the engine's performance and potentially cause damage. Don't take that risk and just go with what Ford recommends.
