How often do I need to change the oil in my Ford S-Max?

I am a new owner of a Ford S-Max and I am wondering how often I need to change the oil and filter. I've been told different things by different mechanics and I want to make sure I am following the correct maintenance schedule.

It is recommended to change the oil and filter in your Ford S-Max every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. If you frequently drive in severe conditions, it is best to change it more often.

I change the oil in my Ford S-Max every 3,000 miles. It may be more frequent than recommended, but I prefer to err on the safe side and keep my car running smoothly.

I always follow the maintenance schedule recommended by Ford and change the oil in my S-Max every 10,000 miles.
