Is the Ford Galaxy durable in extreme weather conditions?

I'm planning on taking my Ford Galaxy on a road trip across the country, including through some harsh weather. Will the car hold up in these conditions or should I consider renting a different vehicle? Any tips for maintaining the car during the trip?
